Volleyball Recap: Alameda Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Alameda was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jefferson Saints. If the Pirates were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Saints when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Alameda started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-21.

Liliana Casias paced Alameda's offense, picking up seven kills. Casias got some help from Camila Ortiz and her eight assists. Jimena Casta?o Velasquez controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Alameda's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Jefferson, they moved to 3-10 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Coincidentally, Alameda and Jefferson will both be playing Platte Canyon the next time they take the court. The Pirates will head out to face the Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Saints will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
