Baseball Game Preview: Cypress Creek Coyotes vs. Hudson Cobras

Cypress Creek is a perfect 10-0 against Hudson since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Cypress Creek will head out on the road to square off against Hudson at 7:00 p.m. The last three games Cypress Creek has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Wednesday, Cypress Creek had just enough and edged out Lecanto 6-5.

Cypress Creek got a great performance from Colin McGee as he struck out 12 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. McGee has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gavyn Mullis, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Braden Rankin also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hudson, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Largo 11-10. The Cobras haven't had any issues with the Packers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Owen Wilson was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Celotto, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Cypress Creek now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Hudson, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.

Cypress Creek took their win against Hudson in their previous matchup last Tuesday by a conclusive 12-1. Will Cypress Creek repeat their success, or does Hudson has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
