Kennedy is on a six-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Denver West an 18-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Kennedy Commanders will welcome the Denver West Cowboys at 4:15 p.m. Kennedy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Kennedy turned things around against DSST: Montview on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Knights. The Commanders not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 30, 2024.
Vincent McHone was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Kennedy is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 0-4 otherwise. McHone was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Denver West and Lincoln, and Lincoln kept the tradition alive. The Cowboys lost 19-3 to the Lancers on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Cowboys have lost by exactly 16 runs.
Denver West saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Enoch Maestes, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Maestes also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
Kennedy's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Denver West, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.
Denver West's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Kennedy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. It's a different story for Denver West, though, as they've been averaging 9.2 hits. Given Kennedy's sizable advantage in that area, the Cowboys will need to find a way to close that gap.
Kennedy took their victory against Denver West when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. Do the Commanders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cowboys turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
