             A  win for Lake Belton just wasn't in the cards  on Friday as the  team wasn't able to take the lead at any point. They took a  blow against the Georgetown Eagles, falling  65-21. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings  (they are ranked 189th, while the Eagles are ranked 50th).
 When it comes to explaining why Lake Belton lost, don't look at  Maverik Maddux. Despite the final result, he threw for 146 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Lake Belton also got a significant boost from  Michael Gonzales, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 88 yards.
 It was another big night for  Jett Walker, who rushed for 184 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per carry for Georgetown. Walker's rushing production has been exceptional  as that marked his seventh straight game with at least 108  rushing yards. Another player making a difference was  Kaleb Mcdougle, who threw for 372 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.
 The  loss snapped Lake Belton's winning streak at four games  and leaves them with a 6-3 record. As for Georgetown, the  victory was  the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
 Lake Belton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  48-7  win against Chaparral on the 7th. Georgetown has also  already played their next contest,  a  31-7  victory against Cedar Park on the 7th.
