Preview: Jackson-Milton Bluejays vs. Heartland Christian Lions

Jackson-Milton is 3-0 against the Lions since January of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Jackson-Milton Bluejays will head out on the road to take on the Heartland Christian Lions at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Jackson-Milton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Monday.

Last Monday, Jackson-Milton had to suffer through a rough 57-29 loss at the hands of the Rockets. Jackson-Milton was down 45-19 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Jackson-Milton's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Amani Yasin, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and five assists, and Macayle Thornhill who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thornhill has scored all season.

Meanwhile, Heartland Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They fell 59-47 to Southern.

Jackson-Milton now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Heartland Christian, they dropped their record down to 8-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Everything went Jackson-Milton's way against the Lions in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the Bluejays made off with a 51-31 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jackson-Milton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
