Josh Ryan was a one-man wrecking crew for Mount Union as he rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. Ryan was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 66 yards.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Mount Union was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 341 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2023.
Mount Union's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged three passes before it was all said and done. It was truly a group effort as John Welsh, Maddox Hobbs, and Caizon Scott picked up one apiece.
West Branch's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Mount Union, their record now sits at 3-0.
West Branch might still be hurting after the 50-27 loss they got from Mount Union in their previous matchup back in September of 2023.
