Basketball Game Preview: Abingdon Falcons vs. Gate City Blue Devils

The Abingdon Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Gate City Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Monday, Abingdon earned a 53-40 victory over Lee.

Meanwhile, Gate City had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs, sneaking past 60-58. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Devils have posted since December 21, 2024.

Gate City's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-11. As for Abingdon, the win got them back to even at 12-12.

Abingdon might still be hurting after the 55-33 defeat they got from Gate City in their previous matchup last Tuesday. Can Abingdon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
