Basketball Recap: Hillsdale Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Sydney Hartzler and Rakell Brown

Hillsdale lost against Hudson back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hillsdale Hornets took a 52-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hudson Tigers. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hillsdale's loss came despite strong showings from Rakell Brown and Sydney Hartzler. Brown dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 boards, while Hartzler dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Hartzler is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Even though they lost, Hillsdale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Hillsdale's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Hudson, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hillsdale will take on Union City in a holiday battle at at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hillsdale is facing Union City at the right time seeing as Union City is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Hudson and Madison will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th.
