The Perry Pirates will challenge the Ursuline Fighting Irish at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Perry's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Ursuline has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.
On Thursday, Perry came up short against Jefferson Area and fell 7-3. The match marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Sydney Collins was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Ursuline came into Wednesday's contest having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Cardinal Mooney 19-1 on Wednesday. The Fighting Irish's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Emma Davies was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Davies was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season.
In other batting news, Brooke O'Palick and Katie Koulianos did most of the damage at the plate: O'Palick got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Koulianos went 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That stolen base was O'Palick's first of the season. Lauren O'Leary was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Ursuline's win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Perry, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-5.
