Palos Verdes has gone 9-1 against Mira Costa recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Sea Kings will square off against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Palos Verdes' defense has only allowed 14.6 points per game this season, so Mira Costa's offense will have their work cut out for them.
Palos Verdes is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Inglewood: they outscored them in every quarter. The Sea Kings enjoyed a cozy 31-12 win over the Sentinels on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Sea Kings.

Palos Verdes got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryan Rakowski out in front who threw for 130 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten passes, and also rushed for 30 yards. Rakowski's passing game has become a key predictor of the Sea Kings' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise.
Palos Verdes didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Nick Yakubik. Weston Reis was another major factor on D, making 13 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Despite a strong season so far, Mira Costa has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They took a 27-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Leuzinger on Friday.
Palos Verdes will have to contain Liam Meeker as he made an impact in Mira Costa's last game. He rushed for 87 yards and one score.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed eight in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jack Strosnider, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Palos Verdes' win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Mira Costa, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 6-3.
Friday's matchup will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Rakowski and Meeker. Rakowski just won't slow down this season and has thrown 18 touchdowns (and and only 1 picks) while averaging 186.1 passing yards per game. Meeker has been a dominant force too and has averaged 161.4 passing yards per game.
Palos Verdes was able to grind out a solid victory over Mira Costa when the teams last played back in November of 2024, winning 20-13. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sea Kings since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
