Preview: Pleasant Valley vs. Chico
The Pleasant Valley Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Chico Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Pleasant Valley came tearing into Wednesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 goals) and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand Shasta a 3-0 shutout. Pleasant Valley's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three games.
They hit Shasta with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Brendan Van Nuys,
Garrett Powell, and
Keegan McGregor.
Meanwhile, Chico entered their tilt with Foothill with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Chico was the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Foothill. Give Chico's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.
Pleasant Valley is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3-3 record this season. As for Chico, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2-2.
