Josh Fiori turned in yet another pitching appearance with more than seven strikeouts on Wednesday. He produced his best game of the campaign: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Escalon is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise.

Fiori's strong effort led Escalon over Sonora and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sonora is limping into the matchup having lost ten straight at home dating back to last season.
