Volleyball Game Preview: Taft Eagles vs. Lane Tech Champions

Taft hasn't had much luck against Lane Tech recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Eagles will square off against the Champions at 6:15 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Taft sitting on four straight victories and Lane Tech on six.

Taft can't be too worried about heading out to take on Lane Tech: they just beat Amundsen at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. The Eagles walked away with a 2-0 win over the Vikings on Wednesday.

While Taft won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-15.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lane Tech walked away with it. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 2-0 on Wednesday.

Lane Tech's victory bumped their record up to 21-13. As for Taft, their win bumped their record up to 28-6.

Taft couldn't quite get it done against Lane Tech when the teams last played on May 5th as they fell 2-0. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
