Volleyball Recap: Elbert Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Elbert lost against Byers back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Elbert took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Byers. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Elbert started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-11.

Paisley Vandergriff paced Elbert's offense, picking up ten kills. Vandergriff got some help from Jadyn Schmidt and her 18 assists. Vandergriff also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Melanie Hermes, each putting up two.

Elbert's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Byers, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elbert will challenge Miami-Yoder at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Byers, they will face off against Flatirons Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
