Norco had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Thursday. They came out on top against the Santiago Sharks by a score of 5-2. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 6-0 win on Tuesday.

Trent Schlim spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Elijah Alvarez was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dylan Seward, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Norco pushed their record up to 20-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games. As for Santiago, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-11.
