Soccer Game Preview: Garces Memorial vs. Stockdale

The Garces Memorial Rams will square off against the Stockdale Mustangs at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Garces Memorial's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They came out on top against San Joaquin Memorial by a score of 2-0.

Meanwhile, Stockdale had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.7 goals) and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Titans. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 189th, while the Titans are ranked 687th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Stockdale's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those five contests. As for Garces Memorial, their win bumped their record up to 5-6-4.
