League recap: Gee's hitting boosts Taft

South Sequoia league recap: 3/20/13

Steven Gee had the hottest bat in South Sequoia this week, racking up a .789 average, one home run and nine RBIs. Meanwhile, Taft put together a 4-0 week.

Trenton Taylor was the best pitcher in the league this week, leading the Wildcats. He won two games and struck out 13 batters.

Taft, the league's stolen base leader this season with 53, added to its lead in that category with 32 more steals over the past week.

South Sequoia's Taylor had a great week on the mound, as he led the league with two wins and 13 strikeouts.

There were 17 hitters that batted over .400 in the league this week. The group was paced by Fabian Zuniga, who collected four hits in four at bats for a 1.000 average.



Gee went 4-for-4 as the Wildcats defeated Arvin 17-5 on Tuesday. He also drove in three runners and scored three runs.

Wasco's Drew Clark struck out eight Kennedy hitters en route to an 11-1 victory on March 16. Over his four innings pitched he allowed one run on two hits.
