Baseball Game Preview: Nevada Cubs vs. Prairie City-Monroe Mustangs

The Nevada Cubs are taking a road trip to face off against the Prairie City-Monroe Mustangs at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The last three games Nevada has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Nevada blew Greene County out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Greene County got their revenge. The Cubs fell just short of the Rams by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Cubs have suffered against the Rams since June 24, 2019.

Meanwhile, Prairie City-Monroe never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over Greene County. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won six in a row.

Nevada's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Prairie City-Monroe, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Nevada might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Prairie City-Monroe in their previous matchup back in June of 2024. Can the Cubs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
