Baseball Recap: Skyline Comes Up Short

Skyline was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Chandler Wolves. If the Coyotes were looking for revenge after losing 5-4 to the Wolves when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Easton Leon was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Skyline is 6-3 when he allows at most two walks, but 5-7 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Skyline saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Daniels, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Chandler, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-10-1.

Skyline didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-3 defeat against Mesa on the 14th. As for Chandler, they have also already played their next matchup, a 7-3 loss against Basha on the 16th.
