Poynette's game  last Thursday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Friday. They put the hurt on the New Glarus Glarner Knights with a sharp  11-4 win. The Pumas' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
 Kyle Hellenbrand tossed a big game,   pitching 5.2 innings while giving up  three earned runs off   four  hits.
 On the hitting side, Poynette let  Hunter Webster and  Easton Ripp run wild. Webster  scored a  run while going 2-for-4, while  Ripp  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances. What's more,  Webster posted two  RBI, the most he's  had since back in May of 2024.  Owen Breuch also deserves some recognition as  he  snagged his first  stolen base of the season.
 Poynette  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Glarus struck out eight times.
Poynette's first  victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for New Glarus, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
 When Poynette and New Glarus next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Pumas will  face off against  Cambridge and their three-game winning streak  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Meanwhile, New Glarus will try to stop Lake Mills' four-game winning streak when they meet  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
