Basketball Game Preview: Dublin Fighting Irish vs. Fannin County Rebels

The Dublin Fighting Irish will face off against the Fannin County Rebels at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Dublin knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Fannin County likes a good challenge.

Dublin is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They blew past Heard County 72-49. Given the Fighting Irish's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while the Braves are ranked 352nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dublin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aj Johnson, who went 8-for-18 en route to 20 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Tristian Bell, who went 6-for-10 on his way to 16 points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Fannin County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took down Brantley County 51-33 on Tuesday.

Dublin is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. Fannin County pushed their record up to 19-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
