Volleyball Recap: Legion Collegiate Academy Comes Up Short

Legion Collegiate Academy was the 3-1 winner over Marvin Ridge when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Lancers fell 3-1 to the Mavericks on Tuesday. The Lancers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Legion Collegiate Academy ultimately came up short, they really made Marvin Ridge work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 29-27, 22-25, 25-18.

Legion Collegiate Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Marvin Ridge, their win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

Coming up, Legion Collegiate Academy will square off against Ardrey Kell at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Lancers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Marvin Ridge, they will face off against South Mecklenburg at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mavericks are facing the Sabres at the right time seeing as the Sabres are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
