Basketball Recap: Antonito Comes Up Short

Antonito was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the Crested Butte Titans, falling 52-12. The Trojans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 26-6.

Antonito lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Destanaya Quintana, who posted six points and 11 boards. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Crested Butte got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Calla Fenlon out in front who scored 16 points. Those 16 points gave Fenlon a new career-high. Molly Miller was another key player, putting up ten points and four steals.

Antonito's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Crested Butte, their win ended an eight-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-16.

Antonito has already played their next contest, a 44-23 victory against Lake City Community on the 26th. As for Crested Butte, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 37-25 win against Custer County on the 27th.
