Basketball Recap: Dekaney Takes a Loss

Dekaney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost to the Westfield Mustangs on the road by a 49-33 margin. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 657th, while the Mustangs are ranked 317th).

Dekaney's defeat dropped their record down to 11-15. As for Westfield, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-11-1.

Dekaney will square off against Benjamin Davis at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dekaney is facing Benjamin Davis at the right time seeing as Benjamin Davis is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Westfield, they will venture away from home to square off against Nimitz at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Nimitz's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
