Basketball Recap: West Central Valley Skates Past Ogden with Ease

West Central Valley had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 37-point drubbing they dealt Ogden on Tuesday. The West Central Valley Wildcats breezed by the Ogden Bulldogs to the tune of 55-18. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 323rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

West Central Valley is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.8 points per game. As for Ogden, they dropped their record down to 1-12 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, West Central Valley and Ogden will both be playing Glidden-Ralston the next time they take the court. West Central Valley will head out to face Glidden-Ralston at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Ogden will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
