Basketball Recap: Jersey Shore's Run of Six Straight Victories Now Over

Jersey Shore lost against Central Mountain back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Jersey Shore Bulldogs took a 62-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Central Mountain Wildcats. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bulldogs came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 443rd).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central Mountain to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hunter Hoy, who went 10 of 20 en route to 29 points and three steals. That's the most points Hoy has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Noah Wells, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 13 points.

With the loss, Jersey Shore broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-3. As for Central Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.

Jersey Shore will face off against Shamokin Area at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. Jersey Shore knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Shamokin Area likes a good challenge. As for Central Mountain, they will head out to face off against Midd-West at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. Central Mountain is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.9 points per game this season.
