Softball Game Preview: Deer Park Deer vs. Clear Creek Wildcats

The Deer Park Deer will square off against the Clear Creek Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Deer Park comes in on six and Clear Creek on four.

Deer Park is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Clear Falls 12-1 on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Deer with their most commanding win of the season.

While Clear Creek didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They had just enough and edged out Dickinson 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since March 11, 2024.

Clear Creek's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Deer Park, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.

Deer Park was able to grind out a solid victory over Clear Creek in their previous meeting back in May of 2019, winning 5-2. Does Deer Park have another victory up their sleeve, or will Clear Creek turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
