Baseball Recap: Oliver Springs Comes Up Short

Oliver Springs lost against Coalfield back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Bobcats took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yellow Jackets.

Oliver Springs saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eli Brummett, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Oliver Springs' loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-6-1. As for Coalfield, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

While Oliver Springs had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
