Softball Recap: Centennial Gets the Win

Centennial hadn't done well against Marriotts Ridge recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Eagles came out on top against Marriotts Ridge by a score of 7-3. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Lauren Jensen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. Jensen was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Julia Braganca, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Maddie Reese, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Centennial was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .472. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Centennial now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Marriotts Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3.
