Softball Recap: Dundee/Bradford Central Beats Honeoye for Their Eighth Straight Win

Dundee/Bradford Central waltzed into their match on Thursday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They were the clear victors by a 21-1 margin over the Honeoye Bulldogs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-1 back in April.

Morgan Sutryk made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Piper Simpson and Riley Brisco did most of the damage at the plate: Simpson went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Brisco went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave Simpson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maddie Knapp, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Dundee/Bradford Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .722. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Dundee/Bradford Central pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Honeoye, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.
