Basketball Game Preview: Central Valley Bears vs. Kennewick Lions

The Central Valley Bears will take on the Kennewick Lions at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Central Valley's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Central Valley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took down Meadowdale 78-64. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Mavericks are ranked 45th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Kennewick, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 59-50 win over Roosevelt on Wednesday.

Central Valley's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points over those games. As for Kennewick, their win bumped their record up to 18-7.

Central Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Kennewick in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 58-47. Does Central Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Kennewick turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
