Basketball Recap: Hutchison Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three games, Hutchison finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They were beaten by the Barrow Whalers 64-28. The matchup marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Hutchison lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Logan Penn, who posted 12 points. That's the most points Penn has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aiden Belt, who earned five points and four steals.

The loss snapped Hutchison's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-6 record. As for Barrow, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Hutchison wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 54-29 defeat against Lathrop on the 24th. Barrow has also already played their next contest, an 83-44 win against Nikiski on the 24th.
