Football Recap: Irion County Takes a Loss

Irion County fell victim to Rankin and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a blow against the Red Devils, falling 48-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hornets of the 60-12 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Luke Seahorn threw for 60 yards on four of nine attempts. Kyle Olivan was his top target, picking up 60 receiving yards. On the ground, Hagen Turman rushed for 40 yards.

Irion County dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Rankin, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Irion County will square off against Holy Cross at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Rankin, they will challenge Westbrook at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
