Baseball Game Preview: Checotah Wildcats vs. Stilwell Indians

For the second straight game, Checotah will face off against Stilwell. The Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Checotah will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Stilwell, who they had gone 0-8 against in their eight prior meetings. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Indians on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Camden Ferguson was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Cale Thompson was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Checotah is 3-1 when Thompson posts two or more runs, but 2-14 otherwise. Dallas Carter was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Checotah was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .393 or higher in four consecutive games.

Stilwell's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Checotah, their record is now 5-15.
