Baseball Recap: Heritage Comes Up Short

Heritage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] Titans. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Rylan White was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.

White wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lukas Miller, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run. Kaden White also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland], their record now sits at 7-13.

Heritage didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 17-6 defeat against Casey-Westfield on the 15th. As for Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland], they have also already played their next contest, a 6-3 victory against Cumberland on the 15th.
