Baseball Recap: Hoover Triumphs

After only one run in their last contest, Hoover made sure to put some runs up on the board against Wayne on Thursday. Hoover walked away with a 10-6 win over Wayne. With that victory, the Huskies brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Braydon Bounds, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Peyton Grigsby was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Bounds wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Hoover kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Hoover's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Wayne, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hoover will face off against Ripley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wayne, they will square off against Tug Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
