After a string of four wins, Mt. Vernon's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 2-0 to the Centralia Orphans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Orphans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.

Mt. Vernon's defeat dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Centralia, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Mt. Vernon will head out to square off against Freeburg at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Centralia, they will venture away from home to challenge Triad at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
