With a playoff win on the line, Carroll County rose to the challenge on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 win over the Cave Spring Knights. The victory was familiar territory for the Cavaliers, who have now won 19 matches in a row.

Carroll County's win was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Cave Spring, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.
