King George has gone 9-1 against Courtland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Foxes will head out to challenge the Cougars at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (King George has five straight wins, Courtland has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Tuesday, King George made easy work of Culpeper County and carried off an 8-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Foxes, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Kelsea Minter was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Kallie Slovack was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Selena Buckwalter also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Caroline hit Courtland with a six-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars fell 6-3 to the Cavaliers.
Brystal Newman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Buchanan, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
King George's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Courtland, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
King George took their win against Courtland in their previous meeting on April 8th by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Foxes since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
