Softball Recap: Forest Grove Has No Trouble Against Liberty

Forest Grove had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Liberty on Wednesday. The Vikings blew past the Falcons 11-1. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by seven runs or more this season.

Forest Grove is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Liberty, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-10.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Forest Grove is set to take on their familiar foe Glencoe at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Vikings 2.8, the Crimson Tide 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Liberty will square off against rival Century at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
