Basketball Recap: Challis Piles Up the Points Against Leadore

Challis won the last time they faced Leadore and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Challis Vikings took their game with ease, bagging a 71-35 win over the Leadore Mustangs. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 23 points or more this season.

Challis' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacen Farr, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Brayden Ollar was another key player, going 6 of 12 en route to 16 points and six steals.

Challis was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Leadore only racked up six assists.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Porter Mayo, who posted 13 points and five boards. Mayo has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Dane Piippo, who earned seven points and six blocks.

Challis' win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-7. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points per game. As for Leadore, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Challis and Leadore will both be playing American Heritage the next time they take the court. Leadore will host American Heritage at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, while Challis will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
