Baseball Recap: Washingtonville Takes a Loss

Washingtonville managed to slip by Burke Catholic the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Wizards lost 13-3 to Burke Catholic on Tuesday. The Wizards were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Burke Catholic apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Andrew Dempsey made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Washingtonville is 2-1 when Dempsey posts one or more home runs, but 1-3 otherwise. Brennan Tesseyman also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Washingtonville now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Burke Catholic, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washingtonville will face off against Goshen Central at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Burke Catholic, they will venture away from home to face off against Tri-Valley at 4:30 p.m. on the 30th.
