Softball Recap: West Muskingum Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

West Muskingum's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They put the hurt on the Philo Electrics with a sharp 12-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Tornadoes, who have now won nine contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Kadie Bare made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Bare was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, West Muskingum got a massive performance out of Gabbi Hammer, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs Hammer has posted since back in April. Addy Antonetz was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

West Muskingum kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

West Muskingum's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-8. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Philo, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Muskingum will face off against Tournament Opponent at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Muskingum is facing Tournament Opponent at the right time seeing as Tournament Opponent is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Philo, they will take on Indian Creek in a tournament on Tuesday.
