Basketball Recap: Paris Autry's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Overhills over South Central

On Saturday, the Overhills Jaguars came up short against the South Central Falcons and fell 56-49. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Paris Autry, who went 7 for 11 en route to 15 points and eight assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Najiha Allen, who posted 11 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.

South Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brook Evans led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 15 boards. Evans has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 13 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kaelyn McCarter, who scored 19 points and eight boards.

Overhills' loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for South Central, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-4.

Overhills has already played their next game (against St. Pauls), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. South Central has already played their next match, a 74-34 victory against Northside - Jacksonville on the 3rd.
