Basketball Game Preview: Tupelo Tigers vs. Konawa Tigers

Tupelo is 0-5 against Konawa since January of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Tupelo Tigers will head out to square off against the Konawa Tigers at 8:00 p.m. Tupelo has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Tupelo duked it out withColeman on Tuesday. Tupelo simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Coleman 59-31. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Wildcats are ranked 124th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Konawa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by Elmore City-Pernell and fell 76-48. The defeat was just more heartbreak for the Tigers, who fell 60-57 when the teams last met back in December of 2022.

Konawa's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Tupelo, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.

Tupelo might still be hurting after the 65-42 defeat they got from Konawa when the teams last played back in January of 2020. Can Tupelo avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
