Recap: Canfield Cardinals vs. Ursuline Fighting Irish
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Canfield Cardinals can now relate to. They fell just short of Ursuline by a score of 16-13. Canfield's loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Christian Lynch was his usual excellent self, rushing for 81 yards and two touchdowns. Lynch has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last five times he's played. Devonte Taylor did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 93 receiving yards.
Canfield's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Ursuline, they pushed their record up to 13-0 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
Canfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ursuline will face off against Villa Angela-St. Joseph at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Villa Angela-St. Joseph's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four games.
