Monroe won the last time they faced Whitewater and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cheesemakers put the hurt on the Whippets with a sharp 20-5 win. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Cheesemakers this season.

Eli Schaefer was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Ashton Hale also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Monroe was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Whitewater only posted a batting average of .188.

The victory snapped Monroe's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-3 record. As for Whitewater, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Monroe beat Whitewater by a score of 16-3 on Thursday.
