Joplin took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Parkview a 7-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Blue Valley North didn't have quite enough to beat Blue Valley Northwest on Tuesday and fell 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Mustangs have suffered against the Huskies since May 10, 2019.
