Centennial is 9-1 against Burleson since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Centennial Spartans will challenge the Burleson Elks at 7:00 p.m. Centennial has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

On Tuesday, Centennial got the win against Joshua by a conclusive 63-41. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Owls are ranked 443rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Burleson had to suffer through a 78-25 loss at the hands of Seguin. The Elks have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Burleson's defeat dropped their record down to 20-14. As for Centennial, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 27-6 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Centennial against Burleson when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 71-36 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Centennial since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
