Baseball Recap: North Miami Snags 11th Victory in Last 12 Games

North Miami barely beat North Judson-San Pierre the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors put the hurt on the Bluejays with a sharp 11-2 win on Tuesday. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Drew Wright made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Logan Smith, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Ryan Meredith was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs.

North Miami was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Judson-San Pierre only posted a batting average of .179.

North Miami has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for North Judson-San Pierre, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-11.

Looking ahead, North Miami will venture away from home to take on Caston at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Comets will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Judson-San Pierre, they will host Culver Community at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
